What are your mobile terms?

When you provide us with your mobile phone number, you agree that our organization may send you text messages (including SMS and MMS) to that phone number. Our organization will send you up to 10 messages per month. You will receive a confirmation text message, and you may need to reply as instructed to complete registration. Message and data rates apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. You agree to receive a final text message confirming your opt-out. You may opt-out at any time by texting the word STOP to shortcode 31996. You agree to receive a final text message confirming your opt-out. For help, send a text message with the keyword HELP to short code 31996. Texts may be sent through an automatic telephone dialing system. Consent is not required to purchase our goods or services. You agree to notify us of any changes to your mobile number and update your account us to reflect this change. Your carrier may prohibit or restrict certain Mobile features and certain Mobile Features may be incompatible with your carrier or mobile device. Contact your carrier with questions regarding these issues.

How do I sign up for these text messages?

All you have to do is text "crock" to 31996. (Up to 10 messages a month, message and data rates may apply, and you can always text HELP for help & STOP to cancel.)

Will I be charged for the text messages I receive?

Our organization will never charge you for the text messages you receive. You may see some messaging rate charges from your mobile provider, though, so be sure to check your plan.

Privacy policy

Our organization is dedicated to protecting your privacy and work hard to ensure our website, and services are both safe and secure for our visitors, clients, and subscribers.

Protection of Information

Any information communicated to our organization for text messaging and or storage will remain in the ownership of the user, which will store securely in accordance with our security policy and the law. Our organization will take the necessary steps to secure your personal information with safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Our organization will, at no time, rent or redistribute this information without your consent, except where legally required to do so.

Subscribing and Unsubscribing

It is policy that just as a user must opt into a text marketing list, they have the right to opt out of a particular text marketing list as well. When a user opts out of a text marketing list, they will no longer receive any texts unless they, themselves, re-subscribe.

Limits On Our Abilities

Even though your privacy is of the utmost importance to us, due to standing legalities, we can't promise that personal information will not be divulged to third parties in ways not explained by this privacy policy. Furthermore, we can (and you give us permission to) divulge any information about you to private entities, law enforcement or other government officials, as we, in our sole vigilance, believe needed to address and/or answer questions or resolve problems.

Our organization reserves the right to change this privacy policy at its discretion. Your continued use of this service after changes to this privacy policy has been posted is taken as acceptance of those changes. It is your responsibility to monitor the privacy policy to determine whether any changes have been made. This privacy policy is subject to and applicable to all privacy laws.

You acknowledge that accepting this privacy policy is a condition of your relationship with our organization and it's services and you agree to be bound by all of its terms and conditions.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY.  Void where prohibited.  By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules.  Failure to comply with these rules may result in disqualification.

SPONSOR: This Sweepstakes is sponsored by ‘WCIU, The U’ 26 N. Halsted, Chicago, Illinois 60661 (the "Sponsor"), which is solely responsible for the conduct of this Sweepstakes.

ENTRY. A purchase is not required to enter or to win a slow cooker kitchen appliance (the “Prize”) from ‘The Jam.’ ‘Rock out with your Crock Out’ Sweepstakes begins Monday, March 12, 2018 at 7:00 AM CDT and ends Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 12:00 Midnight CDT unless extended by WCIU, The U.’ To enter the Sweepstakes, viewers must watch ‘The Jam’ on WCIU, The U between 6-8 AM for one chance per day to text the code words shown to 31996. One code word will be shown in the 6 or 7 o’clock hours. Participants may enter each day for an increased chance of winning. At the end of the Sweepstakes Period, one (1) winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries using a computer software winner selection tool. The winners will be contacted by phone no later than 9 AM Monday, March 19 to be notified that they have won the Prize. 

Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, due to technical/network failures, human error, or any other error or malfunction. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void.

Entrants agree not to upload, post, or transmit any materials which contain any computer viruses, Easter eggs, worms, Trojan Horses or other harmful component or programming routines that are intended to damage, detrimentally interfere with, surreptitiously intercept or expropriate any system, data or personal information. Any attempt to deliberately damage any website or undermine the operation of the Sweepstakes is a violation of criminal and civil laws, and the Sponsor reserves the rights to seek damages from any person who makes such attempt(s).

Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual or authorized account holder of an e-mail address shall be determined by ‘WCIU, The U’ in its sole discretion, and ‘WCIU, The U reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Sweepstakes.

ELIGIBILITY. ‘Rock out with your Crock Out’ is open to all legal residents of Illinois and Indiana who live in the Chicagoland television viewing area (as defined by A.C. Nielsen) and are 18 years of age or older. Employees of ‘WCIU, The U,’ their advertising agencies, consultants, franchisees, suppliers, (collectively, “Sweepstakes Parties”) are not eligible to enter or win, nor are such employees’ family members. In addition, individuals who share a common household with an employee of a Sweepstakes Party or who are in any kind of domestic relationship or partnership with an employee of a Sweepstakes Party (e.g., boyfriends, girlfriends, fiancé, roommates) are not eligible to enter or win this Sweepstakes. Sponsor shall be the sole judge of what constitutes a domestic relationship or partnership in the event of a dispute.

PRIZES. One (1) winner will be awarded a slow cooker kitchen appliance from ‘The Jam’ of equal or lesser value of $50. Winners will first be notified via a phone call no later than 9 AM CDT on Monday, March 19.  Following the phone call, the winner will receive an email detailing the necessary steps to Prize fulfillment. Odds of winning will be determined by the total number of correct eligible entries. If a winner fails to claim their Prize by not answering or returning the phone call within three (3) business days, it will result in the forfeiture of the Prize and a new drawing will be immediately held from the remaining eligible entries at the discretion of ‘WCIU, The U.’

PRIZE RESTRICTIONS & CONDITIONS. Prizes are non-transferable and subject to terms and conditions of the Prize provider and Sweepstakes Parties. There will be no substitute or cash redemption awarded to the Sweepstakes winner. All income and other taxes are the responsibility of the winner. By entering, the winner is consenting to the use of their name, likeness, and/or biographical information for advertising and promotional purposes without additional consideration, including any in-studio appearances.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY.  These Prizes are non-transferable and will be delivered via USPS Ground Mail delivery.  Winners are responsible for income and other taxes on the Prizes. Winners will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, Publicity Release and Letter of Indemnification within five (5) business days of notification of being a winner. Failure to comply with the rules and conditions of the Sweepstakes may result in a forfeiture of Prize. The slow cooker kitchen appliance will be delivered to the winner no later than ten (10) business days after the Affidavit of Eligibility, Release of Liability, Publicity Release and Letter of Indemnification has been received by WCIU, The U.

‘WCIU, The U’ explicitly disclaims any and all warranties of any kind, including but not limited to, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The Sponsor and/or Sweepstakes Parties shall not be liable or responsible for those guarantees or warranties made or offered by advertisers, partners, manufacturers or suppliers, including those related to the Prize. Under no circumstances shall the Sponsor and/or Sweepstakes Parties be held responsible or liable for use of the information and/or products supplied and/or made available through the promotion or for errors or anomalies resulting in the unintended or erroneous participation, award of any prize or other benefits under the jurisdiction of these sweepstakes rules.

By participating in this Sweepstakes, all participants and prize winners agree that WCIU, The U’s subsidiaries and affiliates and each of such entities’ respective officers, directors, agents and employees are not responsible or liable for any injury, loss, illness, litigation or damage that may occur from participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance, possession, use or misuse of prize. In the event that any dispute arises regarding the meaning or interpretation of these official rules, participants agree that the dispute shall be resolved by applying the laws of Illinois and that it shall be resolved by and within the state or federal courts of that state.

The Sponsor offers no assurances, warranties, or guarantees that the promotion in any media, including but not limited to on air, text/mobile phones and websites, will be uninterrupted or error-free and do not promise the accuracy or reliability of any information obtained through this sweepstakes. The Sponsor and Sweepstakes Parties will not be liable, and are not responsible, for damages of any sort connected to participation in or inability/failure to participate in the sweepstakes, whether the damages are direct, indirect, special, incidental, or consequential.

MISCELLANEOUS. The decisions made by ‘WCIU, The U,’ concerning any and all matters with respect to this promotion shall be final. In the event of a computer, telephone failure, or any other circumstances beyond the control of ‘WCIU, The U’ where it becomes impracticable to award one or more Prizes, ‘WCIU, The U’ may, in its sole and absolute discretion, determine not to award any such Prize.
